You can now purchase these tote bags from the pool.
Jesus Green Tote bags are now on sale! Take your fabulous branded bag with you on your expeditions – to the park, shops, beaches or simply the Lido! Only £6 (£4.80 for members)
We will make our own way to Hathersage Pool, and meet at 1 pm in the cafe at Hathersage Pool to swim at 2 pm.
The pool would like us to book our swimming slots individually rather than as a group so we need to book via their website. It’s easy and you don’t need an app! Tickets go on sale each Friday at 7 am for the sessions in the following week so you can book on
Please join us for a Spring trip to Hathersage pool in the Peak District on Saturday 1st April, returning on Sunday 2nd April.
We will swim at Hathersage Swimming Pool on Saturday, and then we have the choice of either Hathersage on Sunday or the geothermally heated New Bath Hotel Pool in Matlock. There’s an indoor cafe at Hathersage pool for any non-swimmers to keep warm in while we swim.
We’ll stay overnight in YHA Hathersage (costs £15 each, based on 6 sharing a private room). The dorms aren’t public and can be shared with up to 6 of our group. There are currently 3 more rooms available, to sleep a maximum of 18 people.
Practically, this means sorting ourselves into groups of six and then booking a room. The hostel recommends booking very soon as this was one of the last Saturdays that’s not booked up. There may be other accommodations in the village too.
It’s would take a long time by train, so we’ll need to work out lifts.
Approximate itinerary:
Saturday – Drive up in the morning, (2 hours 45 minutes) swim at Hathersage Lido, lunch, a walk nearby for anyone who wants to – it’s close to Stanage Edge and lots of lovely tors.
Sunday – Swim at either Hathersage or New Bath Hotel Pool in Matlock, lunch, and potentially another walk and then drive back returning early evening.
Timings, and more information on booking our swims at the lido coming soon.
Winter Celebration
Sunday 15th January 2023
11.00 – 13.00 @ the Lido
After a particularly successful and busy year at the pool, please join us for another chance to meet and socialise. Many of you will have enjoyed our previous winter gatherings, over the past 25 years, at friends’ homes & Hobbs Pavilion but now that the Lido is open year-round, once again this year we’ve decided that it’s appropriate to meet at the Lido.
Better have agreed to extend this Sunday’s opening time by an hour until 13.00 (the pool opens at 07.00), the café will be open but bring along food and drink to share – we hope to have a gazebo in case of rain. So come along, have a swim (before 11.00) Join us there!
